“I, Lee Myojin, was born to serve Assemblyman Tae Jeonghwan’s household.” Because Minister of Land Affairs Tae Jeonghwan unearthed a family’s ancestral burial mountain, a curse fell upon his own family. To protect his firstborn, Tae Yugang, they hid me away and raised me in the mountains, inside Sayundang, as a “lightning rod” girl meant to carry the family’s misfortune. “Whether you like it or not, I’m going to pull you out of this hellish place.” Twenty-three years later, now grown, Yugang thought of me as his accursed fate… one so cruel that he wanted to keep me by his side, even by force— even if he had to “stuff” me and preserve me.
