The Black Panther Next Door

Harang, an utterly ordinary cat beastkin, lives in Terberat, a border city notorious for its poor public safety. Working there as a postal civil servant, Harang leads a dull and lonely life. One day, the neighbor who lived across from her ends up hospitalized due to drug addiction, leaving the room vacant. Soon after, a very charming and beautiful black panther beastkin moves in. The black panther beastkin, who seems completely out of place in Terberat, keeps showing interest in Harang for some reason. Although Harang knows she should never trust strangers carelessly in a place like Terberat, she finds herself increasingly drawn to the black panther beastkin. Meanwhile, a series of disappearances involving white-furred beastkin begins to occur in Terberat. Through an object she happens to discover inside the storage room of the postal agency, Harang learns that she is actually a mage—something considered practically impossible among beastkin.
