The Regressor and the Blind Saintess

Bera, a former beggar, has never hesitated to trample over others or make underhanded deals if it meant surviving. Even in an age when the Demon King emerged, he never fought like a hero. Instead, he hid in the deepest shadows and cared only about preserving his own life. In the end, he survived—but once the war was over, the consequences of his actions finally caught up with him. Consumed by a curse and waiting for death, Bera believed there would be no one by his side at the end of his life. Nor did he expect anyone to be. But when he opened his eyes, he found himself in a filthy sewer. And there was Renee, the Blind Saintess who had been declared dead. Though blind and covered in burn scars, Renee possessed a kinder and more selfless heart than anyone Bera had ever known. She took him in and cared for him. But in the end, she died. And Bera was unable to save her. After regressing into the past, he vows that this time, he will be the one to find Renee first—and that he will protect her no matter what. But keeping Renee safe is not something that can be achieved through strength alone. On the day the Saintess's sacred stigmata appear, the Holy Kingdom, the Empire, the Alliance of Kingdoms, the Dragonians, and even the Followers of the Night begin to move. And the entire continent starts to revolve around her.
